Home sweet Home

The days of agonizing over a place to stay in Italy have since long gone. The final payment has been mailed to Lynn for our apartment in Vicenza. Now all I have to do is pack... O God! . My nerves are frayed with all the last minute things to do. What to bring, what not to bring, call the cat sitter, take the my tomato, pepper and eggplants next door so they can get watered. I made a deal with the neighbor they could eat all the tomatoes till their hearts content for watering my babies!. I have made copies of all my credit cards, passport and put all the import paperwork in a central location, just in case. All this makes my head hurt. I have bought little gifts for our lovely hostess in Venice and Lake Como. I went to the store called "Bath Junkie" and purchased little bottles of body wash and lotion for each hostess. While browsing on my favorite web site., www.slowtrav.com other "Slowtrav" travelers, have mentioned what to bring as gifts and pictures from home.

I found my self overpowered in bringing more than one little gift. I soon stocked piled some other little things, like Toll House chocolate chips, nuts, pecans, walnuts, Macadamia nuts, brown sugar. All the great ingredients to make the favorite " All American cookie "Chocolate chip"!. I hope they have baking soda or powder because I cant do it all. I would hate to have cookie dough explode all over the oven in Lake Como. :o) Now for Margherita's 9 yearold son, in Lake Come, I found a "Super Bowl" tee shirt. I asked his mother if he knew what that was and all she said was he knows about the game of football they play in Italy. Well he will be the only young man on the block with a superbowl tee shirt., that was played in my home town. Jacksonville Florida. !!!
